Hey Lovelies,

Happy New week! I was very productive this past weekend, and am proud of myself. Most weekends, I just chill and not get up to much, especially after working 72 hrs a week. I actually exercised, cooked, cleaned, did laundry, went grocery shopping, caught up on my TV shows. I was like an energizer bunny!

The weather was also very good, especially for England, and I barely needed a coat. KC (my hubby) and I had gone out with the KC's friend (I am yet to meet anybody) in Nottingham, and we actually had a good time. I wore this Tuxedo dress and paired it with a pair of Suede Over the Knee (OTK) Boots. I was really just going for an all black look, which is not very like me. I love the embroidery on the beret as well, it gave it a fun twist.

3) Big (Bell) Sleeves

With the Sleeve trend, it is go big or go home! The bigger your sleeves the better! I was initially amused by some of the big sleeves I would come across while shopping, but you know what they say, if you can't beat them join them, and that is what I have done! Because now I am obsessed with big sleeves, and I really can't help myself.



4) Flower Embroidery

What screams Spring more than flowers? Although the flower embroidery trend came around last year, it is now more popular than ever. From runways, to the pages of magazines, every piece you see has some flower embroidery on it, literally. I am also starting to OD on it, and I ain't sorry!



5) The Flamingo

I am loving the flamingo trend so much that I am doing the Flamingo dance as I type. Wait, is there anything such thing as the flamingo dance? No? Ok, well when it comes, remember you heard about it here first! The interesting thing about fashion, is that people somewhere, decide to trend something as random as a flamingo. I find it to be very cute, and though, I haven't yet purchased any flamingo patterned piece, I have my eye on a few...

6) Worded Tees

Yes, believe it! Worded Tees are now the coolest thing in planet fashion. The best part is that your T-shirt can say whatever you want it to say. What better way to truly express yourself, than this? I totally love it!

7) Metallics

The metallics trend is another spill over trend from the fall. If I had to pick a top 3 of the 10 trends listed, it would definitely be one of them. I just love the shine of metallics, and nothing is as fashion forward as a metallics piece. I have certainly filled my closet with a lot of metallics pieces, and I will continue to wear them till I am 100 years old!


8) Bold Stripes

Stripes were definitely a hit on the runways during fashion week. They are not particularly a new trend, but they are on my top 10. The major thing about stripes is that you have to consider your body type / shape when styling them. If you are petite or not tall, or on the thick or voluptuous side, then I would go for vertical stripes. If you are on the skinny or tall side, then the horizontal stripes will work for you. If you are an experimenter, then you can mix stripes with different prints or patterns for a fun, fab look.




9) Pearl Embellishments

I find these to be fun and sophisticated. They are a way to spice up pieces and give them a playful vibe. They also make for great DIYs as you can do them yourself with old pearl accessories. It is a trend that would make you clutch your pearls, because DIY enthusiasts will be coming for them.



10) The Color Pink

The last, but not the least trend I love this Spring is the color pink. I mentioned in my last post that I have been obsessed with pink lately. Well, the fashion gods must have seen and felt my heart, because pink is the one of the hottest colors this season. Fuchsia pink, in particular seems to be leading the pink race, as I have spotted it in a lot of Spring Collections. As we transition from Spring to Summer, I will be color blocking my pinks with other bright colors.

Who can tell me what dry Skin and Eczema have in common? That's right! They itch! A.L.O.T! If you have ever experience either of the two or both, you will understand what I mean by the itch. I personally do not have dry skin or eczema, but I see patients who do all the time, and one other thing they all have in common are marks from scratching. From the look of those marks, I can definitely understand how badly it itches to have dry skin or eczema.

There is really no secret formula to this, but in addition to keeping your skin moisturized, there are a few things you must do as to not exacerbate your condition. I will tell you these things briefly, before I tell you what creams / lotions /ointments, I recommend to help your dry, itchy, or eczematous skin.

I get this a lot; when a patient comes to me with dry or itchy skin, and I ask them if they shower with hot water, 10 times out of 10, they say yes. Then I give them 'the look'. 'The look' is a non judgmental look by the way, because I love hot showers too, but it is a look that says, you could have saved yourself some money by coming in today, because I could have told you this for free. If you suffer from dry skin or eczema, please know and understand that hot showers, especially for long periods of time, makes it worse. The best kinds of showers for your skin type is tepid or lukewarm showers, and try not to stay in the shower for long periods of time.

The next bad thing for you is dry heat. This is particularly common in the winter when people tend to use heating systems. If the temperature is too high, it dries out your skin more. So, if you have eczema or dry, itchy skin, then turn the heat down, and or use a humidifier.

The most important thing to understand about dry skin or eczema is the type of cream / lotion / moisturizer you put on your skin; it has to be an emollient with a good amount of oil in it. It should not be one that dries too quickly, or easily washed off by water. And when you do apply it, apply it generously.

I usually recommend the following 5 creams to my patients because I have personally tried each one of them, and can confidently say they have a good amount of oil base, and work great.

1) Eucerin Intensive Repair Lotion




This is an extremely very good Lotion, and it is my first to go to when I cannot get the Eucerin Lotion. It is more readily available in the United Kingdom and other parts of the world, compared to the Eucerin or Aquaphor ointment. It is more affordable too.


4) CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser



The CeraVe cleanser lotion would be the next on my list. It is not as thick as the first two, but does the work.

5) Vaseline Intensive Care (Cocoa Radiant) Gel Oil



The Vaseline Oil Gel is great, probably on my top 3 list, and it smells good. I particularly like it because it contains a lot of oil and lasts all day long. It would certainly leave you feeling like a greased up model ready for a photoshoot.

I am so excited that Spring is here! Besides, the Summer and Fall, my other favorite season is the Spring. I also love that new fashion trends come in the Spring too. For me, I get to wear fun colors and try new fashion trends, while looking forward to warming days.

Lately, I have been loving all the different shades of pink, particularly baby pink, and rose gold. So I will be wearing a lot pink in the upcoming weeks. For this look, I wanted to go for something comfy, So I wore a T-shirt, and a pair of sneakers with the suit.

I am very excited about today's post!  Over the years, Target has brought about some of the best Designer collaborations with some of the best designers in the world. The great thing about the collaborations is that you are able to purchase high end name brand pieces at very affordable prices. This year, they are collaborating with fashion IT girl, Victoria Beckham in the Victoria Beckham for Target collection. I have always loved Victoria Beckham's style, and her pieces are always unique, and elegant, but, the price tag of most of her pieces are to be discussed another day...
