I hope you are having a great weekend so far? Last weekend my very good friend and neighboor, Seyi was having a potluck. After frying plantain to my hearts desire, I decided to throw on my "kiriki star" Ankara print "iro and buba", and head downstairs to the event. There was soooooooo much to eat, lots of great energy, and I had a lot of fun! By the time it was done, I was extremely grateful that I could just shuffle myself up a few floors and pass out, cos I was stuffed to my eye balls :). The ankara "kirikiri print" was a trend when I was a little girl, but made a come back a few years ago. My mum had the "iro and buba"(a traditional attire where 'Iro' is like a wrap skirt/wrapper while the 'Buba' is the top) made for me 2 plus years ago, so I was glad that I finally got to wear it. I absolutely love the colors! Thank you mummy!!! LOL :) :) What do you guys think?

So I have decided to take up the 30 Day Squat Challenge Starting tomorrow. And you are more than welcome to join me. In addition to the Squat Challenge, I will be cutting out the following foods from my diet- Soda, Bread, Burgers, Fries, Fried Chicken, Pizza, Chinese, pounded yam, and any other finger licking foods that are bad for me, for 30 days to start. I am a foodie, so I can't even promise forever! (covers face)... I would like to take my fitness regimen a bit more seriously, cos normally, I go to the gym work out agressively for 1 or 2 days, and then the following day when I am sore, I take a 1-2 week break! lol (don't judge me)... I will be happy to share results with you if you'd like...

Sorry that I have been MIA. The weather has been great in Jersey and we even had as high as 83 Degrees a few days ago. I had to take advantage of my day off and the beautiful weather to hang out with my friends for some fun in the sun. OMG!! Can you guys believe it has been 1 year since I started blogging?! I can't believe how much time has passed! Am sure by now, most of you have heard of the tragic events going on in Nigeria, West Africa. In case you haven't, there have been bomb blasts, mass murders, and series of kidnapping. Over 2 weeks ago over 200 schools girls were kidnapped from their school at Government Girls' Secondary, Chibok, Nigeria, by an Islamic Terrorist group called Boko Harram. The sad part is, they have not been found. There have been reports that although some have managed to escape, some have been, or are being sold off to militant men as child brides for a little as $12.
My heart constantly bleeds for these girls, as I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through out there. The constant fear of not knowing if they will make it home, make it out alive, or what will become of them. The constant torture they are going through. I wonder how much food they have even had in the past 2 weeks, if any. There is a huge possibility that they are being raped and sexually molested. What about their parents? Can you begin to imagine the anguish they are going through? Knowing your daughter is out there somewhere, but not knowing where, or if she is alive...
