Hey Everyone! I was just thinking... I have never read any books or novels, besides "Chike and the river", "Eze goes to school", and "Ukwa ruo oge ya o daa", books that I read in middle and high school, and my text books for undergrad, and grad school. I didn't even read the infamous "50 Shades of Grey." I know! I know! It is shameful!... It is even more surprising, as my mum reads a lot of novels, and her favorite authors are Jackie Collins and Jeffrey Archer. I tried once or twice to read a novel and I never got past the 4th page.
I would like to start reading more, and I am looking for a starter book to read.
So, what interesting book(s) would you recommend to a novel novice like me?
Kite runner - Khaled Hosseini
ReplyDeleteHalf of a Yellow Sun - Chiamanda Adichie
Americanah - Chiamanda Adichie
Cleopatra's Daughther - Michele Moran
The Broker - John Grisham
The Testament - John Grisham
Thanks a lot Shayera! I have heard really good reviews about the Chimamanda books, Americanah and Half of a Yellow Sun. I will definitely read them and the other books, you have suggested. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteHi dear, depends on what genre you like. Me, am a sucker for romance novels and very partial to regency romance/ drama. its also light reading material. If that rocks your boat pick up any books by Nora Roberts or Stephanie Laurens. they are two of my fave authors.....
