My Style: OLEKU

Hey Everyone,

Hope you all are doing great. Today's outfit post was what I wore for my cousin's Introduction ceremony last week in Lagos, Nigeria. As the title says, the outfit is popularly called "Oleku". Basically, it a blouse, called "Buba",  and a wrapper called "Iro", and the length of the wrapper depends on what you want. It can be combined with the same material in different or similar colors, or different materials in different colors, but they definitely have to complement each other. I bought the Ankara material used for this outfit in January when I went to Nigeria for Christmas. Even though I am not a huge fan of going to markets, because of the way traders holla and pull at you to come and buy things from them, I had to go inside Balogun Market in Lagos for this one. I had dreamed of this outfit before it was made, the colors and everything, so I had to go to the market myself to find exactly what I wanted. I also had to specifically tell the tailor which color of fabric to use for the top and bottom. Also, the necklace is one of my favorite pieces; it is bright and I just love it, so much so that I would wear it everyday if I could! lol. After the outfit was put together, it came out bright, which is so me! I hope you like the outcome... Enjoy!
